Do I need the regional for Spain and Portugal? I notice the Companies list Spain and Portugal separately. If I get the Spain Airola will that not work in Porto?
Spain and Portugal are two different countries, you need either separate eSIMs or one regional eSIM. The Spanish eSIM will not work in Portugal.
Does the Regional or the Portugal work in the Azores as well?

Theoretically, you could buy it now. Time start when you activate it. But we don’t think there is any need to do so, wait till closer to the date of your trip.

First of all, you will need to make sure Susan’s iPad accepts eSIMs. You can buy one eSIM for Portugal and another eSIM for Spain, or buy a more expensive European eSIM valid for both countries. Holafly eSIMs no longer include local calls, but you get unlimited data. You can check the details of Holafly’s eSIMs here. And Airalo eSIMs here. You will have to run comparisons, we can’t do that for you as we don’t know how long you plan to stay in each country. All the best.
We are planning to do the Camino from Porto to Santiago. What would be the best eSim to get for an android and an iPhone? I think our trip is just under 20 days. should we just get each country eSim if we want local numbers? I am not sure how it all works.
The eSIMs we recommend, Airalo or Holafly, don’t include local numbers. Other than that, they would be perfect for the trip. It might end up being better getting an eSIM for Portugal and another one for Spain.
